Press work & Events

Press work is where the real energy lies in photography. The style and visual impact of a picture is essential to sell a story correctly and broadcast the matching message. I first started shooting locally for the Knutsford Guardian capturing small events, sending in images of the odd dignitary and going on occasional assignments. After a successful shoot that saw my work go national I realsied that there is a certain magic and vibrancy that I wanted to maintain.

Some years down the line I setup my own title www.knutsfordtimes.com. This was not done to compete with the Knutsford Guardian but to offer an alternate citizen powered source for news and information and ultimately,  provide me with a platform to get my images out into the public domain. I still enjoy supporting and exchanging information with the Knutsford Guardian, the town needs a printed paper and it still feels good to see my name in print every know and again.

Press / PR shoots and bookings: I offer a simple quick fire and cost effective alternative if you need a photograph for a press release or for press / PR & Publicity. For just £30* I can come along to an event and give you 10 minutes of professional press reportage photography. You can then use this for any purpose (online or print) for free so long as the image is credited. You will receive the images either on the spot or within an hour ( if required) of the shoot. For fully art directed PR shoots on location or studio requiring an assistant or more equipment please contact me directly

Event coverage: Over the past 10 years I have covered hundreds of events ranging from charity dinners, Restaurant and shop/business openings, parties, and high level V.I.P events, corporate hospitality, wedding parties, music festivals, and so on. Each event has a unique signature and its vital to get this recorded dynamically right from the start. click here for pricing information

Event photography is hard work yet great fun, and using a photographer at an event always adds a little sparkle, ads an element of professional chic with a classic touch of theatre. Guests always feel special and I work pretty hard to make the subjects feel at ease. The trick in photographing an event is to ensure that every angle is covered with a combination of structured compositions and relaxed over-the-shoulder reportage style shots.

Large shoots of 150 people or more  require  assistance to ensure that everyone is covered and the event is fully recorded. I am in constant radio contact with my assistant/s  who are instructed to shoot only the simple setups and easy compositions leaving the more complex and creative work to myself
