Sk8dorz
These shots were taken over a few weeks, no doubt there will be plenty more to come as these want a skate park for Knutsford. Granted they are expensive things but they are great for fitness, social integration, skills development and the list of positives go on. Never really photographed skaters before but I now [...]
Legal coverage
These guys (Shammah Nichols – SNG) were really excellent to work with, easy going and very funny indeed. Matt Townsend (Ultimate) commissioned me for this shoot for their rebranding and new website profile pictures. With a simple brief and a workable budget I was able to deliver some cracking corporate yet relaxed looking pictures!
Eggchaser Study
I have been covering the local rugby team for years but never really looked at it as a study article before. Armed with my 50mm lens I grabbed a few players and tried out a couple of shots before dragging the images into one of my digital image tools.
Oktoberfest
This is a straight up press shoot, nothing fancy just clean shots at Mere Gold and Country Club in Knutsford, capturing the energy of the event, which was, pretty good I must admit.
2010 Tatton Triathlon
Two days, over a 2000+ competitors and nothing but adrenalin driving everyone! The Tatton Triathlon offers so many angles and perspectives to shoot that I struggle to keep the picture count below 2000! This year saw the Knutsford Tri Club on their first really local outing and naturally my time was spent on the sunday capturing as [...]
County Style
What a great client! Clare, super active and much fitter than me! Really creative and relaxed making this shoot one of the best for ages! As with all portraits and pretty much any shoot, I dont really plan out the images, and I try to capture what i can, just like a normal press shoot, [...]
Hockey stands on ceremony
It’s the beginning of the season for Knutsford Hockey Club and the sad departure of a real club treasure Janice T but what a send off. In this gallery you will see the effort that the club went to in organising a really great family fun day fundraiser. Granted the weather was unpredictable but wth regular breaks of sunshine everything looked [...]
Board meeting.
I watched the guy prepare this sensational olive board for a hungry customer. It took about 15 mins to fully stock and by the time it was ready to be served the camera was at the ready. The lighting in Via Via is pretty poor for photography and I didn’t feel like dragging the flash about [...]
A very civil affair
Jonathan W is a old school friend of mine and when he asked me to photograph his wedding I was, a little apprehensive as it was the first civil partnership I would have shot. Why apprehensive? To be honest I have no idea, my guess is that I was stepping into the to unknown and with all [...]
First shoot of the season
Great photoshoot but typical weather! Utterley horrid but the match was excellent! Knutsford beat Trafford MV ten million points to nil! kidding, I have no idea what the score was… I never do! I always get a few excited fans turning up halfway through the match only to ask me the fateful question..”Er, do you know what [...]
Drifting with my 50
Well I was abandoned today, I was just popping into the shower and by the time I’d come down stairs, they had all gone out! Choice: Pub or a play with my 50mm. Not really had time to take the thing out since I bought it so I decided to use the time effectively. Yeah, I know, it’s [...]
In for a penny, in for.. well about 5000 people actually
What a truly brilliant day for the town. This event personifies Knutsford in every single way possible and over 5000 people thought the same! With so many riders and events it was really hard to keep up and at times I would have loved and assistant to pitch in on the other side of the track. Nonetheless, [...]
Sports therapy, often found in the bar.
No this is my home team, Knutsford Rugby Club, I have stood there at the end of the pitch freezing my lenses off snapping these guys, but you know, some of the shots you get pay dividends… in the bar! I try and get the most creative shots out of the sport mainly because all [...]
And with great Gusto…. the shutter was released.
This was done some time ago but i thought I’d stick this shoot on the site. Its a classic press &PR shoot to promote a new premium pizza delivery / takeaway idea from Gusto (Living Ventures). Now… what isn’t revealed in this shot is the fact that the scooter has no engine!… or breaks! so, [...]
Found it! My shot for the Hairy Bikers cook book
I knew I had put it somewhere! this was an image used on The Hairy Bikers Food Tour of Britain. Have a look under Cheshire and then David Mooney’s Wild Boar dish.. the simplest shoot EVER!
Skatepark & the Chancellor
Wasn’t sure who was going to turn up but I knew what the shoot was for and so locked the image I wanted into my mind. It was definitely one of those moments when you actually get the shot you want with minimal amount of fuss in the shortest possible time. I don’t like making [...]
Country Fayre
This was a job the the Knutsford Guardian and wonderfully they printed bout six shots from the selection. Country shows are not really my thing but they do present some very interesting shots. The sun was a annoying along with the wind and as it was so contrasty I decided to select my targets carefully. [...]
A380: A flying sensation
This is the new A320 airbus! It was a seriously hot day and for the first time since the election I was sardined with a full on national press team. I knew I had some special dispensation to film the touch points as the bird came in. Only had a few moans and groans from [...]
Manchester Airport & American Airlines
Earlier on in the year I was asked to attend American Airlines inaugural Manchester to New York flight but this time I was wearing my film making hat. Here are a selection of shots taken during press event. I have to say it was pretty exciting to be stood a few hundred feet from the [...]
All about me...
The round trip is that for the past 15 years I have spent life with a camera almost permanently fixed to my right hand. Click here to get the bigger picture.
